About Us

Global Impact is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping the world’s most vulnerable people. Established in 1956, it is the national leader in raising awareness and funds for humanitarian organizations such as Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontiéres, CARE and Save the Children that provide help to people in need in virtually every developing country. Through programs such as disaster relief, education, health care training and economic programs, Global Impact funded charities promote self-sufficiency, strengthen communities and offer hope.

Since its inception, Global Impact has raised more than $1.2 billion to help others. The organization raises funds directly through workplace giving programs and online donations, and partners with corporations to organize their financial support in response to global humanitarian crises. Global Impact also manages donor advised funds for 21 corporate clients and two of the largest workplace giving campaigns in the world: the  Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA) in Washington, DC, and the Combined Federal Campaign–Overseas (CFC–O) for all overseas commands of the U.S. Department of Defense.

Today, Global Impact provides an opportunity for you to learn about issues facing the world and direct your support to the programs and countries you want to help.

Why International Contributions Are Important

Global concerns are important to Americans. Worldwide issues and challenges do affect us daily. For example, addressing the causes of hunger is cheaper than dealing with its effects when ignored, which can result in conflict, famine, environmental decay and refugees.

Humanitarian foreign aid provided by the U.S. government amounts to less than 1 percent of the federal budget. That is only a fraction of what people think is spent.

Among the top 21 industrialized nations, the U.S. ranks last in terms of the percentage of gross national product spent on humanitarian foreign aid.

Americans are generous givers when it comes to helping people around the world who face hardship due to poor economic conditions, natural disasters and war. For more than a century, international relief and development organizations have been able to respond to humanitarian needs because of private funds raised to support this vital work.

It is your support that allows Global Impact and its member charities to help the poorest people on Earth.
