Women & Children

Global poverty has decreased over the last three decades, yet the percentage of women living in poverty continues to rise. Women control less than ten percent of the world's assets while performing two-thirds of all labor to produce more than half of the world's food. Sixty-six percent of women are illiterate. Without access to clean drinking water, sanitation, medical care, equal rights, education and decent employment, poverty continues to intensify. When mothers lack the means to thrive, their children suffer as well.

No single charity is large enough to combat these challenges alone. Organizations worldwide are combining to provide commitment, resources and front line delivery of services on a global scale. Through members of our charity alliance, our partners are helping to address the special needs of women and children are the world with:

  • Access to education for girls
  • Job skills training
  • Prenatal and early childhood care
  • Micro-lending opportunities
  • Safe drinking water
  • Vaccinations and lifesaving drugs
  • School enrollment and attendance programs

Our team of committed staff is ready to work with you to achieve sustainable change for women and children worldwide. For more information, contact us via email or call 703.717.5200.
