Stanley Berman, Global Impact, Selected as Virginia Business CFO of the Year
Global Impact Recognized for Leadership, Dedication and Financial Responsibility
Alexandria, VA (July 2, 2010) - Stanley Berman, Certified Public Accountant and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Global Impact, was selected this month as a "CFO of the Year" in the nonprofit category, by Virginia Business magazine. Global Impact, a leader in international philanthropy, raised $131.9 million in 2009 from 300,000 donors serving more than 18,000 charities benefiting millions of people throughout the world.

Virginia Business is a regional magazine that covers business trends, community and people in the state. It reaches more than 27,500 decision makers in the state. This is the fifth year the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants has partnered with Virginia Business magazine to present the "CFO of the Year" award which recognizes outstanding achievement in financial stewardship for Virginia-based public and private companies and nonprofits. The prestigious program honors CFOs whose ingenuity and dedication have led to success for their companies, their staffs and their professional careers.
Mr. Berman was the only nonprofit CFO to be recognized as a "Smart CPA" by SmartCEO Magazine in 2009. Prior to joining Global Impact in 2007, Mr. Berman was Chief Financial Officer of B'nai B'rith International, a charitable service organization with members in 51 countries. Previously, Mr. Berman was a member of the professional staff of Arthur Andersen & Co., originally on the audit staff and later as a Senior Manager in the consulting division of Andersen. Mr. Berman is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Greater Washington Society of CPAs (GWSCPA). He is currently Vice President and a member of the Executive Committee of the GWSCPA and serves on its Not-for-Profit Organizations Committee.
