Global Impact is a not-for-profit organization that is exempt as a charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It does not charge membership dues or service fees. It simply distributes 88 percent of the money it raises to its members and other charities. Only 5.3 percent of every dollar Global Impact spends is for administration and fundraising, which is substantially under the norms established by the federal government for participation in federal workplace giving campaigns by charity watchdog groups.

Global Impact earned its second consecutive rating of four stars from Charity Navigator, an independent evaluator of not-for-profit organizations, in recognition of outstanding fiscal responsibility.
